Four Titles Awarded on First Day of Junior & Elite Track Nationals
Geneway Tang (Queens Village, N.Y.; Edge Cycling) and Jackson Capela (Detriot, Mich.; American Cycling League – Detroit) would push their finals match to go to a decider ride, after each winning one of the previous rides in the final. Tang would take control of the final ride early on. This move paid off, as he was able to claim victory.
USA Cycling Announces 2022 Track World Championships Team
For the first time in years, USA Cycling will be fielding two full Team Sprint squads. The women’s team includes Keely (Kortman) Ainslie (Fullerton, Calif.), Kayla Hankins (Scottsdale, Ariz.), and McKenna McKee (Vancouver, Wash.; Team Novo Nordisk). The men’s team will be three out of the four men included on the roster: Evan Boone (Phoenix), Josh Hartman (Brooklyn, N.Y.; Start Track), Geneway Tang (Queens Village, N.Y.), and Dalton Walters (Dallas; Richardson BikeMart).
bike-ROCK-star Scholarship Recipient Awarded.
Congratulations to Geneway Tang, 2022 recipient of the bikeROCKstar scholarship! Geneway is from Macungie, PA. At only 20 years of age, is a four-time National Champion, ranked #1 in the US for the Keirin, and ranked #2 for the Match Sprint. As a USA Cycling certified coach, he is already committed to the TURTLE Effect way of paying it forward in “helping community programs and supporting the young kids, and bringing them into the sport.” Asked about his cycling goals, Geneway replies, “…competing at the highest level and inspiring those around me, showing that with hard work and dedication, you can achieve your dreams.”
